Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of matteroftechnology.com and any forms, booking pages, guides and other content on it (the "Site"), operated by Matter of Technology ("Matter of Technology," "we," "us"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site.
Our services are covered by separate agreements
The Site describes the services we offer. It is not a contract for those services. Any managed IT, project, low voltage, VoIP or other work we perform is governed by a separate written agreement, proposal or quote between you and us. If anything in these Terms conflicts with that agreement, the agreement controls.
Quotes, pricing and availability
Information about services, pricing approach and availability on the Site is general and may change without notice. Pricing is provided only in a written quote or proposal, and a quote is not binding until both parties accept it in writing.
Guides and articles
Our how-to guides and articles are provided for general information only. Technology changes often, and every environment is different, so steps that work in one situation may not work in another. You use the guides at your own risk. They are not a substitute for professional support, and following them does not create a client relationship with us. When in doubt, back up your data first and contact a qualified professional.
Forms, booking and communications
When you submit a form, book an appointment or contact us, you agree to give accurate information. Submitting a request does not create a client relationship or obligate either of us to do business together. We handle the information you send as described in our Privacy Policy.
If you agree to receive text messages, our SMS Terms also apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful
- Submit spam, false information, or someone else's contact details without their permission
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our systems, or any connected service
- Interfere with the Site's security or operation, including through automated scraping, probing or attacks
Third-party services and links
The Site links to services operated by others, such as our appointment booking, client portal and support systems, and to other websites. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Intellectual property
The Site and its content, including text, graphics, logos and the Matter of Technology name, belong to us or our licensors. You may view and print pages, and share links to our guides, for personal or internal business use. You may not copy, republish or sell our content without written permission. Other product and company names mentioned on the Site belong to their respective owners and are used for identification only.
Disclaimer
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that the Site will always be available, error-free or secure.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Matter of Technology will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue or profits, arising from your use of the Site or its content, including our guides. Our total liability for any claim related to the Site is limited to one hundred dollars ($100). This section does not limit liability under a separate service agreement, which has its own terms.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from your misuse of the Site or your violation of these Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute related to the Site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Clark County, Washington, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
